Design Work

As my work has developed I have completed a number of design projects both in terms of product and graphic design. Some of these were done as professional commissions and others as part of my university degree. If you would like any information on any of these projects or if you have a project you'd like me to look into for you, please feel free to contact me.

Following the studio shoot with baby Hari, I was asked to make something special for his Christening. This name plate was well received and takes pride of place in his nursery.

For my final university degree project I teamed up with the company responsible for making Reebok’s fitness equipment. I was tasked with the job of developing a replacement for their I-bike. The result was a twist on the old design intended to improve customer satisfaction and reduce costs during the products life without affecting production costs.

A second year design project – Designing for Patient Safety. This project looked at the issues in a neonatal ward where equipment is not designed to be integrated, resulting in many stands people placed around cots and incubators where they can be knocked and are tripping hazards.

A third year design project – Wired for Fitness. This project looked at using steel wire as a material for to aid fitness. To this end I looked at how the heavy set thick metal tubing in most modern gyms is very imposing and definitely not suitable for a home environment. By using a wire lattice, weights can be stored in a more open environment making them less daunting and can also be integrated into normal furniture.

A second year design project requiring a solution for a portable barbeque.  This product is large enough to provide large cooking and preparation  surfaces, sufficient air circulation for optimum heat, yet it is easy to erect with no need to fastenings, and the double skin feature keeps the outside cool making it safe to carry away at short notice.

A second year design project aimed at using renewable materials and energies to provide gardening solutions in an urban environment. The design brings plants into the modern world using light, colours and a lack of a need for soil resulting in a product that is clean, stylish, and needs little maintenance making it perfect for the modern urban environment.
